Week 2: Sing A Psalms

The book of Psalms beautifully paints a picture of the human experience lived in relationship with God. From heart-wrenching cries for rescue to moments of unending praise, the psalmists offer hope. Regardless of what is happening around us, the Psalms can serve as a pattern for navigating life. With that in mind, we are going to spend the rest of July digging into the Psalms.

Here’s what you can look forward to:

Take a moment and read Psalm 37:3-5. May we learn to trust in the Lord, delight ourselves in the Lord and commit our ways unto the Lord!

3 Trust in the Lord, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed.

4 Delight thyself also in the Lord: and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.

5 Commit thy way unto the Lord; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.

Video devotions

Psalm 128 contains powerful promises for those who walk in the fear of the Lord. Shane Spears shares today from his personal experiences and challenges us all to make this Psalm a daily prayer.

MUSIC DEVOTIONS

Psalm 96:1 reminds us to sing a new song to the Lord! There is no better way to sing a new song to the Lord than to use the Psalms. To get you started, we have two great songs for you: Psalm 23 (I Am Not Alone) and Psalm 42 (I Need You Lord).  Read those two Psalms aloud and thank God for those promises. Then, join our worship team for these songs…

PS…If you’ve not had a chance to vote for your favorite Psalm song (23 or 42), go to Facebook or Instagram and cast your vote! The winning song will be next Thursday’s featured song!
Cam Cook brings encouragement to us today from Psalm 46: God is with us! Regardless of the unknowns in life, we have hope that is found in stillness with God. Enjoy this devotion and time of worship with “Psalm 46 (Lord of Hosts)” as composed by Shane & Shane.
